India, the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and a mosaic of tradition.

With a rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. As the 7th largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, marked off as it is by mountains and the sea, which give the country a distinct geographical entity.

Apart from this, India has deep historical roots in the fitness and wellness sector in India. The fitness industry has evolved rapidly from its nascent unstructured beginning in the early 90s to a comprehensive ecosystem today with consumers, providers, manufacturers, facilitators, and government.

While fitness — or rather, wellness — has always been part of the Indian culture, as is apparent with Akhadas, Yoga, and Ayurveda practices in the country, changing lifestyles and new demands by people have outpaced traditional wisdom to a certain extent. Today fitness is more driven towards health and well-being.

India also has one of the most spirited and active associations, volunteering, and cooperative traditions in the world that adds to the mentioned qualities and determines why our approach to cycling, wellness, and business should be a bit different in SpokeHerd®.
